Cay Randall-May began her art career as a scientific and medical illustrator, but in recent years has expanded into fine art. She works in many media and enjoys exploring new, visually exciting techniques. She is inspired by the colors and textures of the Arizona Sonoran desert which is her home and by her love of all things spiritual, healing, and intuitive. My ultimate artistic goal is to create images which stretch the imagination and the spirit. Any medium can be used, so long as it sparks my enthusiasm and challenges me to reach beyond old boundaries into new realms of expression. I often explore subjects in depth to create series of related images. My best known series, a Passion for Peppers, consumed my attention for nearly a year after my sons death in August of 1998. The pepper images helped me express my grief. Several articles and essays have been written about this series by me and other authors. Note cards, digital prints, and some of the original pieces are still available for purchase. Today my web gallery features more recent series. Please note that shipping/handling, insurance, as well as applicable Arizona sales taxes will be added to all prices quoted.
